That's too bad, but I was afraid that even LED's that are brighter than the standard white parking lights would be insufficient. Thanks for confirming my fears.

I think that's the crux of the matter. Even if you could find an LED that was as bright as one of the string of very bright LED's that Audi, Mercedes, and maybe VW are using in their newer cars, I doubt that one of them installed in the small round parking light space would be bright enough.
The German car manufacturers use at least 5 very bright LED's on each side of their cars. I haven't been able to find any 3rd-party LED's that are nearly as bright or with probably as long a life expectancy as those used by the German car manufacturers. Does anyone have a good source for such LED's?

Please report what TRI learns. I would not want to install anything that looks too shabby and would prefer to maintain the smooth aerodynamic lines of the bumper (although recessing LED's in the bumper cover this might be difficult to do well).
