In warmer weather, and without a navigator, I might have been able to lean burn up the back straight as well.

I took a different approach. My scangauge tells me when it has cut the injectors, so I coasted down from my 50-55 mph across the line down to 40 for the first turn regen-ing all the way with no injectors running, then I gathered as much speed as possible through the ESS to take that initial hill and gave it full assist going up, then stayed on the assist about halfway up that long hill until the battery was gone. I coasted down a bit for the second half of the hill coming into the hairpin to get down to 35 for the turn, then took advantage of the downhill to regen and then to get it up to speed for the straight. After that, I took the turns at 45 and then got on the assist again to get my lap speed up to 45 before crossing the line.
It was a lot faster than I would have liked for economy, but I had to to keep the speed up without totally trashing the fuel economy.
Your economy vs mine was helped by several things:
Your aero mods
Your driving style
Your car with occupants and luggage weighs a few hundred pounds less than mine (you were worrying about having a bottle of water in the car while my wife had already bought a case of wine <grin>)
My clutch is shot and the engine is straining a bit (I really don't know what's wrong with it)
And, I think your average lap speed was about 42 or so. I went out 10 minutes before you and came in about 20 minutes before you did.
