Default Seats?

Has anyone tried to install 2010+ Insight seats in a 1st-gen?

Our driver's seat is pretty shagged, but new seat covers would cost me more than a set of junkyard takeouts.

Plus, I'm betting the new seats are comfy!

Interesting idea??? I like where this is going already! If I owned both cars I'd be out there now pulling seats to see if the bolt patterns are the same.

I'd be willing to bet serious money that, just because two models separated by a decade or more of R&D share the same nameplate, none but the most basic and inconsequential parts, if any, are interchangeable between them.

Please prove me wrong... I just don't see it.

Agreed, I've probably got a better chance of winning the lottery but hey you've got to have a dream.

I'm just curious - If I can put 2005 Miata seats in my '67 Fairlady, I figured someone might have at least tried it.

I'll go ask for the seat bolt spacing dimensions in the 2nd-gen forum.

Most all mounts on seats are different but you can modify or remove the sliders and mount your new seats onto them with either welding and some drilling, anything can fit. I was thinking of some Integra ITR seats with red stitching.
