Default Ultra Gauge Set Up

I just received an Ultragauge for my 2001 MT. I plugged it in and it worked but I only have a couple of screens and it does not seem to know how much fuel I have.

Is there a way to add screens for lean burn indicators etc?

I bought the Ultra-Gauge EM. With our cars the UG is not able to read the fuel level sensor so you will have to fill up the car and push the up button on the UG to reset it for the full tank (10 gal). There are several things that you can get into in the menus to change the screens. You should go in and set the engine size and such. I found the MPG to be a little closer to accurate if I set my engine size to .9L instead of 1.0L. The UG doesn't recognize when the Insight goes to lean burn, so whenever we are in lean burn the UG is calculating about 20MPG less than the car. So this tiends to throw everything off from MPG to Distance to Empty to fuel level remaining in the tank.

This is just what I have picked up from the last month since I got my UG.

For my LeanBurn screen I have displayed
O2 sensor1 TPI %
MPGinst MPGsrt

Drop the TPI to around 15% and watch for the O2 to drop into the .450 to .300 range the increase throttle back to high 20s and ease up to about 30 to 31 % for max power without dropping lean burn.

You can go in and configure all kinds of screens on the EM model of the UG. Up to 7. Just push the menu button and get in there and play around, or read the maunal. It was pretty easy but don't try it while driving.

I love the UG I want one for each of my cars. It would be really helpful on cars that don't already have the MPG tools that the Insight has.

IMO, using something like the ScanGauge or Ultragauge to measure fuel economy is silly. They're nowhere near as accurate as the FCD, since they don't have a clue about lean burn. I've never touched those features of the Scangauge - I'm more interested in engine operating parameters. Intake Air Temp, Coolant Temp, Ignition Timing, Engine Load, etc.

I also use it just for engine parameters, I tried to configure it for fuel economy for a while but it was always wildly unpredictable on the G1 Insight. It was fairly accurate on the previous car that had no lean burn nor hybrid system. The FCD is amazingly accurate considering how little fuel our cars burn.

Thanks to everyone for your quick replies. I am mostly interested in intake temp and the lean burn related data as well as other engine paramaters. I will be playing around with it in the coming days.

Thanks again.
