Default What involves a good tune up for these cars.

Ok, just got a Honda insight and I want to give it a good tune up. Here is where I want to start:

Oil Change: Should I use 0w20 or 0w30?

Spark Plugs: OEM or any auto parts store will work?

Sea Foam the car?

Check fluid levels.

Check battery voltage.

I want to install an amplifier and a cd deck. Do you guys think installing a stereo amp in this car is a good idea or will it drain the battery too much?

Also are you guys able to charge up by street driving because I noticed that the IMA battery gets drained fast when street driving.

Tire pressure at 40 psi all around.

Anything else I should do. Any comments on what type of oil? ow20 or 0w30?

1) Use only 0W-20 for best fuel economy.
2) Use OEM plugs. They are indexed plugs. You must match the plugs to the letter stamp on the cylinder head(A, B, C, D).
3) Sure, seafoam won't hurt anything.
4&5) Good things to do overall.

How many miles are on the car? You'll likely want to clean the EGR plate as part of the tuneup.

Plenty of people install amplifiers. The DC-DC converter is rated at 70A, so it's like you have a 70A alternator.

City driving is tough. Being new to the Insight, you have a lot to learn. Practice keeping your battery full by minimizing assist useage, and maximizing regenerative braking with downshifting and leaving spaces between you and the car in front of you.

PCV valve, air filter, cabin filter.... Valve adjustment if they're noisy.

Try 45PSI. Does the car have the original OEM Bridgestone RE92 tires? If not, you'll want to get them ASAP.
