AAA put 2 gallons in and I tried to start it on the freeway and no luck, so we towed it to the nearest gass station. WHile pulling the car out it started, put about 8.8 gallons in while on gass station so total of 10.8. I havent fixed my fuel gauge yet since I bought the car and it ran out gass at 490 miles. My last tank lasted me about 550 with mostly freeway driving. I guess I have to put gass every 450 miles until I get my gass gauge fixed.

It's easy not to run out of gas in the Insight with a broken fuel sender.

Just reset a trip meter when you fill up, watch your average fuel economy, and add a zero.

IE: If you're getting 55MPG, you can go 550 miles. Been doing this in Insight #1 for the last 2+ years and it's only failed me once.

There was ~20mi to the next station, I still had plenty of gas(half a gallon or so).. I just didn't expect the long, steep grade about 10 miles ahead that caused all the rest of the fuel to slosh to the rear of the tank.

Haha, I think thats what exactly happend to me going down hill was fine and as soon as I went uphill, my car started sputtering and slowing down gave it gass and it would go and stop. Pulled to the right and tried starting it and tried exiting the off ramp going up (bad idea), car dies and called AAA, check engine light comes on. Luckily the gass station was about 1 mile ahead.
