Default Anyone ever sleep in their insight? Tips?

I have done this in my other cars in the front seat. Has anyone done it in their Insight? How was it? Any tips?

I've done it quite a few times. It's not exactly the most comfortable car to do it in, but it's manageable.

For me, having ample leg room is more important than being able to recline the seat when sleeping, so I keep the seat how it is when I drive - all the way back. Then just snooze away..

I slept in my 2000 Insight last year. It was after a Bruce Cockburn concert in Aspen ($$$$ hotels), April (cold).
I put the seats all the way forward, tilted one forward, placed a memory foam extending all the way from the back to the front between the seats. Slid into my sleeping bag, my head right below the back window. Comfy? no, but it worked. Helps if you're short, also.

The passenger seat is better than the drivers for naps. The pedals are in the way.

This sounds like the best option if you actually need a full nights sleep. I've always just snoozed for a couple of hours and continued on my way.

I would think a cool panel could be made that would stretch from the hatch, all the way up to the dash board. Apply sleeping bag, rinse, and repeat...

I don't understand how you could have done this. I am assuming you laid head near hatch, feet near radio.

First you have that lip that seperates the trunk from the front area, then you have all that area between the seats and the shifter. How were you able to lay across the car?

If your head is all the way back to the rear hatch, your feet won't extend all the way to the radio. Might actually be pretty comfortable, if you push the seats forward and let your legs dangle over the edge behind the seats. Use a blanket or something to mask the big lip in the hatch area.

I've never tried it, but I can understand how it could work as long as you're not too tall.

I've actually slept in my car in that position. I parked my car under a tree, laid back there on the hatch, and took a nap. And yeah, hitting your head is inevitable. Looking up and seeing sky, it's only natural to sit up completely.

One thing that's also comfy is laying across both seats. Putting the car in gear and taking off the E-Brake then sitting on the passenger side and laying your feet across to the driver's side. It's not Super wide so if you're any normal height, you'll be sitting up mostly, but it's comfy if you have the windows down and you lay your head on the edge of the door. It's only scary looking up because you realize your face is exposed to the guano that the local birds fling through the air.
