Default Best tires for my Insight-I...?

Hi all,
It is time for me to replace the tires that I now have on my 2005 Insight MT; I've never been more in love with a car than this one! I am the second owner and the car came with the tires that are on now. I was wondering what brand/type/spec's of tires that you folks would most recommend....I should do this within the next 2 or 3 weeks...thank you!

Default Pretty simple

Hi,

There is really only one tire that will deliver the maximum performance from a G1 Insight, and that is the Bridgestone Potenza RE92.

It is noisier than others, but regardless of the claims you might hear from a service writer, no other tire can match it for gas mileage.

Yep, the original 165/65R14 RE92s are the only choice for fuel economy IMO.

I am going to have to import American tyres to the UK and need to know the exact tyre we are talking about!

Bridgestone Potenza RE92 165 65 14

Are there any other letters or numbers that denote the exact tyre type?

I am lead to believe that here in the U.K. where our OEM tyre was the Bridgestone B391 165 65 R14 79T, the load rating has to be 79T or the tyre is not the correct one !!! Are there similar nuances on the Potenza?

Is a good price for 4 tyres circa the occasional Costco offers in the region of $330 and a non offer of $430?

I got mine at Costco last year for $329, when Bridgestone had their $70 off sale.

I believe Costco now is charging $30 or $40 extra for mounting and balancing, that they did not charge when I bought mine. You would not have to pay that, if bought without mounting.

Bridgestone Potenza RE92
Last set I bought was from Sears. After shopping around a bit
they were the least expensive.
