Default light flashing / reflecting in rear view mirror?

I noticed this since I fight bought my insight, I notice a flashing light that seems to come from the hatch area into my rear view mirror. It is kind of annoying as sometimes I think its a police car flashing behind me. It does not happen all the time.

I can't seem to put my finger on what exactly is causing it, and my other hatch back cars do not have this problem. Sometimes I see light flashing on the front of my car.

I am going to assume that this must happen to other insights and if you guys noticed this, and does it bother you?

Just a thought rear cargo area light hatch switch or manual switch on the light itself.

Kevin,

Good guess, I've seen the same reflection and it gets your attention at first. Light conditions have to be just right.

It will probably be noticeable if you are driving where there are overhead lights on the expressways or roads.

I had this same issue. It is the backside of those yellow reflectors on the roadway. They are RED. It is to tell someone they are on the wrong side of the road, I guess. They shine through the lower window. Flip the switch to put the mirror up.
