My problem is that I avoid assist so much that I'm usually at 20 bars and I hardly ever get any regen. Then again, since I drive in the country and know where all my stops are, I'm usually gliding with the engine off and am usually well under 10 mph by the time I get to the stop signs. I can't wait to get a MIMA installed because I have one of Art's grid chargers and would love to use more of the pack and shut off the background charge with MIMA until I get home to recharge.

The position of the stock brake switch can also be adjusted. Turn it out a little and it will engage sooner, making it easier to just use regen without tipping into the friction brakes.

Default Braking regen

A frustrating and inexplicable situation when the car will not enter regenerative braking mode, typically after a sustained period of closed throttle coasting.

When this occurs, foot off the brake pedal, make a brief application of throttle and then reapply the brake pedal, this usually rectifies the situation.

Thank you to Jonnyvtec and Peter P for this tip, six years an Insight driver & I had not figured this out

Yep. It can also happen with MIMA if you upshift without touching the throttle. A quick tap of the throttle fixes it right up.

I have been saying this over and over There is no need to wire up an additional switch when the OEM brake light switch will do the same job.

If I downshift to get extra regen, I use 3rd simply because the syncros for 2nd generally get worn faster from normal driving (even if you double clutch and rev match).
