Hey everyone, I just thought I'd let you all know that the Costco $70 off a set of 4 Bridgestone tires deal is back. And this time there's also an additional $30 off the installation!
That means at 104.99 per tire installed (balanced, disposal fee, all that) you come out to:
419.96 - 100 = $319.96 for the whole set!
Not bad.
Sam

I have a Costco a city away, not very far. Is Costco a membership store? How does this discount work? And what if they don't have the tire in stock?
Edit to add: Looks like you have to have a membership card to order the tires online. Any way to bypass this? I think I may have a friend/family who is a member. I heard about the gift card "trick" that allows you to purchase stuff from Costco without actually being a member. I wonder if I can order the tires in person using a gift card.

I imagine they would order them for you and honor the price when they get in? Not sure though.
I'm almost tempted to pick up a spare set...

I'm starting to become concerned that Bridgestone might have ceased production of the 165/65R14 RE92. This wouldn't surprise me at all due to the extremely low demand for these tires compared with other tires.
I would like to buy a set of 4, but I'm not having any luck finding a set. The Bridgestone Website lists Costco, Walmart, Sears, Midas, and Firestone as Bridgestone dealers. Costco currently has Bridgestones on sale, but costco.com and my local Costco tire center list our tire as back-ordered with no available date known. Sears and Walmart no longer sell our tire although they sell RE92's. Local Firestone dealers don't have our tire in stock and won't know whether they can get them from their warehouse until tomorrow. Midas isn't open today, so I won't be able to check until tomorrow.
This contrasts sharply with spring, 2009, when local Costco, Sears, and Firestone dealers all had our tire available locally.
Have you been able to find our tires lately? If so, where?
