I am new to this Forum and purchased my first Honda Insight 2001 UK Model.
Last week.
I have been using it for a week now and love it.
I am still learning to drive it properly.

As you are only in west yorks I suggest you bring it up to me near Thirsk for some free advice and the Perkins once over
I suggest you look up IMAC&C and OBDIIC&C and Mikes Grid chargers for a start.
My main advice is to read this forum, then read it some more, and then read some more, everything has been discussed here it's all there waiting for you.
Congratulations on your purchase, you have great taste!
I would recommend taking up Peter's offer.

David, your MPG figures will suffer with short journeys, especially in the cold when the auto-choke seems to last for the first two miles. However I think it is safe to say that you will still be getting some of the highest MPG figures you can with your type of journeys (if you were to drop down to a 'poor' 50MPG in your Insight, think what you would be getting in a conventional car).
A piece of estate agent sign is good for radiator blocking. When temperatures are less than 10C it is reasonably safe to cover most of the radiator, cut a piece approx 40cm by 20 cm with a 'handle' / strip on top to make it easier to put in & pull out.
There is a new Pirelli Cinturato tyre that gets better MPG than Michelin Energy, there is a relatively recent thread on these tyres somewhere - please use the Forum search. Hope this helps!
