Oh.. That's a shame. Yeah, salvage cars aren't eligible for the warranty.

I guess the picture should be clarified. There are two circles, but the single circle in the back represents two connectors.

You don't need to disconnect the BCM unless the 12V battery stops charging.

Awesome!!!! alrighty, that makes me feel better. Hopefully my betterbattery will be ready before I start experiencing problems, I'll try to have the codes read today and I'll add them to this in case there is an additional issue. Thanks fellas!

You can also read the blink codes, take a look at this thread:

Reading Vehicle Error blink codes

If the code is a P1449 which it probably will be you'll still want to do the blink code read because there are 4 possible P1449 codes, you have to perform the blink code to determine which one it actually is.

In my opinion.........Not matter what the blink code is with a P-1449 it is still an indication that the IMA battery is on the way out.
Knowing the blink code would help you determine if it needs a rebuild or a replacement.
Why rebuild, just get a BB and live with it.
In my opinion.........In a few years most battery rebuilders will get away from rebuilding and just stick with selling new packs.
It's all based on cost.

The wait after the accident did it in.

But as I suspected and the guy that sold it to me as well, the IMA didn't last 15 miles after I got it. The IMA and Check engine light are on, the battery charge level stays high, but the charge and assist gauges aren't showing any activity anymore and the autostop has ceased functioning. I'd like to ask if anybody knows what exactly could be the cause? Complete battery failure? Something else? I took it to Autozone after reading here that there may be codes, but my local shop says they can't touch it because its a hybrid, I'm thinking about trying Oreilly's tomorrow. Will driving the car in its present condition harm it? The honda service guy said I could fry the charging system, but I know they want to make that money too. Dont mean to take over the post, just need lots of info/help before I start my 120mile a day commute the day after tomorrow!

I posted this once before, but I'll put it up again. Look on the net for a tech college. Call and find out if they have a hybrid class. If they do, they will have a battery reconditioning set up. They will usually do it for free. Even if you had to drive a couple hundred miles to find one, it would be worth it. If someone is really desperate, they could send their battery to me and I can get it done here for free. I would just expect you to donate 100 bucks to the class beer fund. ....

I've already put $1k down on a betterbattery, hope it gets here faster than 6-8wks. Also, the picture that Eli posted of the bcm connectors, I only saw two connectors circled to disconnect, would it be the obvious third connector on the right side with the thick orange sheath? I dont want to mess this thing up by unplugging the wrong item, its going to save me enough money to put my kid through college cash.
I would try an appeal to American Honda. Tell them that the situation is not the normal crash and repair. That a tree fell on it. They may help.

Does your title actually show rebuilt or salvage on it?

I'm not sure if telling them that a tree fell on the car would be a good thing or not....... LOL.

Maybe if it's specified that the tree fell on the front of the car?
