Maybe if I get back into the courier business I can get Insight #2 up to 600k rather quickly.
I miss driving 100,000 miles a year.. yes, I know I'm insane. But I do.

I gave $2800 cash and a 1996 Chevrolet Corsica with a bad transmission.
Apparently many people looked at it but they were put off by it being a two seater.
All that remains now is to get a new 12v battery and get the license and insurance transferred.

Congratulations on the purchase. These are just such great little cars. I get so much pleasure out of driving mine. Yours is barely broken in at 515,000 miles - now it's ready to be put to WORK!

Drove the Insight to the bank on Tuesday to withdraw the money to buy it, the ladies at the bank really liked it.
Went by my insurance agent this afternoon to formalize the coverage, she also liked it and asked plenty of questions about the Insight and hybrids in general.
Now, I'm not 100% sure, but I'm starting to think that the metallic rattling that I hear from the engine compartment is the catalytic converter. I had something similar happen to a previous vehicle (Jeep Wrangler) when the "blanket" that wrapped the converter core deteriorated and allowed the core to rattle in the housing. If so, it's not the end of the world, I saved enough on the purchase price to replace the cat. I'll save even more by replacing it myself as I did with the Jeep.
The heat shield over the cat corrodes and then vibrates and makes noise. Use a pair of large stainless steel hose clamps, lots cheaper than replacing the cat.

I didn't find any movement in the cat heat shield, but I'm certainly willing to try again. Nothing like saving money, is there?
