My glove box, manual and rear speakers, spare tire, jack, spare tire carrier, seat back, trailer hitch, and countless other items took a hike a long time ago.
I think Jim is all talk.

Could be. Nah, just haven't gotten my hands on the project car yet. The guy is stewing in his problems. Eventually he is gonna realize that he can't put a new IMA in a 2001 with 200,000 mile, and not a cherry one at that. At the moment he is trying to get a starter working. It isn't a clear path. He loves the car and may well keep on keeping on. I just hope he doesn't discover the salvage value somehow.
I'm not going to trash an 06 with a new battery and only 80,000 miles. There's value there
When you gonna get a day off so you can drive a real Insight
Saturday afternoon if you are game. Having a 4th cylinder and room for 5 is icing on the cake. You will wanna trade once you get behind the wheel
Would you rather I bring the suzuki and tow rope to take your project car for a drag?
Just tell this guy you will give him X amount of funds as is and will tow it home for a project car AS IS.

Saturday afternoon, say 1:00 p.m., usual place. Give me a PM or call if you get tied up.
I really want to drive the car before sinking money. He says it runs good, but who knows about the transmission. The guy has a rep for being a hot shoe. Could have trashed the synchros. That would just about make it a non starter.
You are absolutely right about the entire Baltimore/Washington area. They are very picky in that megalopolis. But, Virginia is a nicely laid back southern state once you get south as far as Fredricksburg. Thanks for your warning though - I'll take that concern to heart
Yeah, isn't emission testing a PINA! $28 per car and time to go wait hours at Express Auto to have them plug in an OBD reader and send to Richmond. Fredericksburg city itself doesn't require them, but just across the Rappahanock (sp?) river (the one George threw his coin across) in Stafford Co. (where George grew up) they do require them. Stafford is the only county surrounding Fredericksburg that requires the test. You have to wonder how they draw the line (has to be drawn somewhere).
HBR: didn't they quit issuing HOV stickers for the DC area(I95/395/495),?maybe just for I66 now? Probably your future customers will just be for emission test passage to get state license renewed every 2 yrs.
Great series of posts on the complications associated with battery life, cycles, grid charging current, etc. (not to mention the pros and cons of reducing weight at the expense possibly of losing the benefit of having a battery assist, the inflammatory part). I guess Mike's $600 grid chargers take all of this into account?

I'm from NYC, so I don't know if they stopped.
These are people with stickers already and they don't want to lose them.

Off topic, but my understanding from reading the Virginia DMV site is that use of CF license plates (VA version of a sticker) to use the HOV on I95/395 with less than 3 passengers is no longer allowed. I66 is next, if it hasn't already happened. My son was looking to use the car for a Northern VA commute and this was a real bummer when he found out.
