Just bought a 2006 insight M/T with 19,000 miles for 9k, clean history regularly maintained, I think I got a good deal. Have been looking around the forums, just wondering if the battery warranty is good until 2016 and if I should expect it to fail before then. Any other tips and advice would be appreciated also. Thanks!

Thats a great deal, I paid $7750 for my 2001 CVT in October with 19K and I wanted a manual. Yours is 5 years newer as well.

Battery warranty is 10 years from in-service date. Call a Honda dealer with the VIN and they can tell you what the in-service date was.

Yes, you should probably expect to have to change the battery under warranty.

I believe the IMA warranty on '05 and '06 models is only 8 years/80,000 miles. With only 19k miles in 5 years, this car might not have been driven regularly, so its battery's cells could already be imbalanced. I'd buy a grid charger ASAP to restore the balance. With probably only 3 years remaining on the IMA warranty, the battery might not fail during the warranty period.
