Default Get that olde worlde leather smell

I have been searching for years for the treatment fluid needed to re-create the smell of leather that cars used to have when fitted with leather seats. Quite by accident, I have just found it, and it is called "Mink oil". It is used in the upper echelons of the shoe industry, as a leather restorer and mine was bought from "The Shoe Snob" (Based in London.)

A link to ebay sales is on his blog, which is mainly to do with the care and use of uber expensive leather shoes, but if you have anything you cherish that is made of leather, and you wish to evoke that olde worlde smell, then get yourself a tub of this (or probably anyone else's Mink oil preservative cream), and put a smile on your face, (as well as a shine on your shoes)

NB. You will need subsequent applications of shoe polish to achieve the shine, as the Mink oil is for suppleness! See the links at the top of his blog for full instructions on shining shoes to a spectacular military level of glossiness, bearing in mind that a modicum of effort will be required on your part!

P.S. Shiny shoes are mandatory for anyone of a "Plodular" disposition......You know who you are....
