Which to sell my 2000 insight or 2006 Civic Hybrid?
My wife is pregnant. After going to Babies R Us, and testing out some Strollers in the Civic, I think it's is just not big enough.
Ii found a good deal, and bought a 2010 Prius IV for $14,000 it has 77k miles.
Now I'm trying to decide which to sell. My 2006 civic or 2000 Insight. Civic is newer but has original battery with 107K miles. Insight 97k miles just had the battery changed.
What would you guys sell? Btw I only have 2 parking stalls so one has to go.
I say sell the Civic and keep the Insight since the Prius can take the place of the Civic?
Oh, and congratulations!

Yeah, right now I'm leaning towards keeping the insight. Because of its new battery. But it is older. If the A/c goes out, I would need to get it fixed. That would be close in price to a battery change in the civic.
I'm wondering in the long run that the civic's battery will go in the next few years. But i did I get a great deal on the civic ($7000 in 2010). So even if the battery went out I would still be ahead of kbb. Although the civic has high miles, the body is younger, and maybe over all the price of maintenance maybe lower over 5-6 years.
They're both Hondas so I don't know if you could guess which will be most dependable. Both should be good. My HCH has almost 180K on the original battery which seems fine. I think I'd keep the one that would meet your needs the best.

As far as meeting my needs, the civic would be better, incase it have to pick up my child sometime in the future, with my wife. But I think how many times would that happen?
I would use the Insight for work most of the time. I car pool with someone, and I drive 1 out of 2 weeks. My total daily work commute is 16 miles. That's 80 miles every 2 weeks. My civic constantly gets me 38-40 mpg, and the insight get 58-60 mpg. The difference in is 20 mpg. That's 2 gallons for the civic and 1-1/3 gallon for the Insight every 2 weeks. I save 2/3 gallons.
Hmmm at $4/gallon I save $2.66 every 2 weeks. times 26, that's about $70 year. The civic is not bad on gas.
So i save $70 using the insight. If i get out the car pool and drive every week, I save $140.
I just got carried away.
Aside from saving $70 gas, The civic meets my needs better, but is not necessary. I have the Prius now. The Insight on the other hand saves me gas, and is more endearing. Emotionally i think i would have a greater loss If i sell the Insight, i enjoy it. But the civic better meets my needs...
If i posted at 8thgen, they will be like WTF keep the Civic, and sell the Fugly Insight. I can't believe you own one of those. I didn't post there.
Oh really, wow! What's it like for them to live in that glass house? Oh, and to get 40mpg, and fight constant recals? But that's beyond the point - the point is, Civic Hybrids are plentiful and cheap to buy.. 1st gen Insights are precious and rare.
