I did. For Artic's chargers, you only need to connect the positive and negative cables and the fan. You might be able to install it without taking the battery out.

You can install the piggyback spade terminal without removing the pack if you have small hands and feel comfortable working blindly next to HVDC. Using a screw like Mike does is much more reliable overall.

Once you have the IPU cover off, you're only 2 interior bodypanels and 8 bolts away from removing the pack. It's really not a big deal.

I wholeheartedly recommend purchasing one of Mike's grid chargers over one of the "dumb" chargers.

I'll see when it gets here, if I cant get to it then I'll pull the battery out. I dont think mike has that over night chargers in stock, and what makes it a "dumb" charger? If it works and does what its suppose to do thats all I really care about.

Yeah, true. Hopefully he makes another batch.

It's a "dumb" charger because the battery is an expensive piece of equipment, yet it has no monitoring capabilities, no safeties(besides a fuse), no feedback, etc. You're throwing charge at it blindly.

That said there's nothing really inherently wrong with the "dumb" chargers, but you become the monitor. I have a dumb charger. Believe me, it's much nicer being able to log a charge and know exactly what is going on, rather than babysitting the pack.

I am aware of the cost difference though, but it 's like anything else - you get what you pay for.

Oic, he is making them right now and I wanted the volt meter wired up so I can keep track of it. Its just too bad that mike doesnt have the overnight chargers in stock or I would have purchased one.
