I checked with my local tyre shop last week, they show 1xB391 in the whole of UK available. They also added that this normally means its a miss count and does not exist. Only option available from Bridgestone was the B250 that replaces the B391...

I woud be up for a set of RE92's same reason as Peter!

count me in for a set at whatever it works out at.

I suppose a ceiling is indicated - say 90 per tyre.

Thanks

Default Another taker

OK, count me in for a set - I'm curious too.

£75 a tyre sounds reasonable if you can find them.

Well, with this thread's running for just a day, so far, it has garnered quite some interest.

Perhaps the best way to proceed is that I let it run for quite a while longer, in the interim asking the helpful US member to quote, if he's able, for x no. of tyres, minimum. Then that should give a better idea of price: and maybe even a notional delivery-time.

And I'll risk diving into the world of red tape by asking my nearest Customs-office about import-duty. I daresay the ex-Eton multi-millionaires with whom 'we're all in it together' deserve their cut. Ha.

Keep the orders a-comin', gentlemen: I make that 26 tyres in 21 hours.

To paraphrase Chief Brody, I'm gonna need a bigger garage.

If someone has an address they would like to post or PM me I can give some quotes? I work at an automotive retail/repair shop that ships internationally from the US every day.

It doesn't have to be your personal address (for security) but maybe a business nearby.

From a shipping standpoint the higher populated / less rural area is going to be the cheapest way to avoid any extra fees. And the more tires/boxes in one shipment makes it much cheaper to do all at one time.

Anyway send me an address and and estimated number and I will be glad to give you all and idea from the US to United Kingdom.

BTW not looking to make ANY money at all here. Just trying to help fellow insight owners!

Hi ddhollon,

Thanks for the offer, sounds great, who has a location for UK Delivery & customer collection? Central UK would be better unless we are going to ship them onbound.

I have a 40 foot shiping container lockup in a storage yard with some space in Wrexham. I will have it for at least the next 6 months. Not perfect, but happy to offer to the group.

Richard

I'd pay £50 a corner, but no more as I'm really not covering the milage to warrant any more.

It's very good of you to offer the use of your shipping-container to store/distribute from (the Bridgetone Potenza tyres I'm hoping to bulk-buy for us all), 'richardh'.

I'm at Luton in Bedfordshire. As I've nowhere near that amount of space I'd intended to pack my single garage to the rafters and have a steady stream of Insighters visiting over a long weekend, say, to fetch their tyres themselves. Either that or I'll split the delivery and courier the tyres to them. Or, to get me out of the house, I'll do a tour of Britain and deliver them myself.

Anyway, I've PM'd 'ddhollon', our fellow-member in the US, and when I get a quote from him for purchase and shipping I'll go to my local Customs office and see whether, as (I think it was) 'aisbell' observed, the import-duty makes it all unworkable. Once I've an all-in price I'll see how many takers remain;and go from there, eh?

Again, thanks for the offer. Let's wait now till we've a price.

Jim 'AllFumbs' Mulligan.
