As a UK Insight-owner I keep reading in threads that although we can't buy original-equipment tyres here [Bridgestone Potenza RE92] our cars may be shod with them legally should we happen upon them.
So I'm thinking to take-up a US member's kind offer to ship a load to us.
I am not a trader but am signed-off work thro' long-term illness; and wish to do something useful with my time. (Why, my own car does not even need new tyres.)
Would interested parties please indicate how many tyres they would like and what would be a fair rate? My aim is to assist my fellows and break-even.
(Oh, and should an HM Revenue & Customs-wallah read this I receive nil State benefits, pay my local and national taxes and National Insurance contributions in full and on-time, and am living frugally off savings.)
Yes, I would be interested in a set of four as well. As the 'best' replacement low rolling resistance tyre, the Pirelli Cinturato P1, is about £50 a corner I agree that £50 each would be a sensible price. Thanks.

Good point! I recently bought 4 RE92's on sale (Costco sale price match) for ~$86 each plus sales tax. I doubt that they could be bought for much less. Add to that shipping, VAT, and an import duty.
In the past, a bulk purchase and shipment was investigated. I believe the high shipping cost killed the deal.
If anyone in Europe wants a set of RE92's, is traveling to the U.S., and can actually find a set to purchase, bringing them back as checked luggage would probably be the least expensive alternative. I will be bringing 4 back to Sweden from the U.S. in April. Two RE92's taped together are less than the maximum size and weight for a piece of checked luggage, so my wife and I can check 4 RE92's plus 2 suitcases at no extra cost (business class). Sweden will nail me for its 25% VAT plus an import duty which will make the total cost per tire ~£75. So I don't think that £50/tire is close to realistic.
Oops. Sorry. At say $95 each, that is the equivalent of £65 - plus shipping - which probably works out at £75 each or £300 for a set of 4. A bit pricey for me.
The Pirelli Cinturato P1 recently gained 5 stars out of 5 for low rolling resistance from Which? (beating Michelin Energy Savers with 4 stars out of 5) so I may have to go with those instead.
I have not closed my mind to importing the RE92 though and can still be on board if you need just one more person.

Bridgestone B 391's were original equipment in Australia. They are still available. I don't know if they were a special tyre, but Gen 1 Insights are they only car they are OEM for in Australia.
I understand that the same tyre was OEM in the UK. Does anyone know how much the B 391's differ from RE 92's
