Default Special Instructions to a Business Mounting RE92s

I stumbled across a posting in a thread a few days ago (can't remember if it was a recent thread or not). The poster was stating that Insight owners needed to be very careful when having a business mount tires on our wheels. The reason involved something about the business lifting the car off the ground to remove all four tires at the same time and their lift possibly damaging the aluminium body.

Now, I can't find that thread.

I'll be getting new RE92s mounted on Saturday morning and this is the first time I've replaced the tires on my Insight (owned since 2007).

Can anybody speak to this issue? Is this a real concern that I need to worry about?

Thanks,
Bryan

At the back location be cautious of low aero bodywork in front of the rear wheels.
Arrows point to the locations on the car.
I recall that thread too.

Also here MN Driver:
"One thing I would like to say is that if this car is being lifted by either a jack or a 4-point hoist that you MUST be sure that it is lifted properly. If its lifted by a 4-point hoist, it must be lifted by the specific lifting pinch welds, there are arrows on the plastic runners right behind the front tire and in front of the back tire where these points are. For a jack there is a thick center section to lift by and then you use the hoist points for your jack stands."

Thanks for the reply, AbCaRed00.

Maybe the best thing to do is simply take my wheels off and take them (off the car) to the mounting store?

I just called my tire place. They confirmed that their hoist can be adjusted to fit the lift points of the Insight. So I think I'm good.

thanks,
Bryan

When I had my tires installed at the shop where my son works, he used their lift that has the two swing out arms on each side.

Due to the plastic aero panels just inside of the lift points they may need a block of wood to keep from crushing the plastic. With my floor jack I need a block.
