Default Better Battery w/ Mike D Grid Charger

Is the Bettery Battery compatible with Mike D's Grid Charger?

I'm looking at the future for when my battery will start failing, and I plan on installing a Better Battery. Since it is a plug-&-play replacement, I assume the battery is compatible with the charger and the harness (it is just a battery and a constant amp charger after all...) and need verification. I found out today that Mike D is looking for more orders, and I may want to jump on the list.

Also, I NEED to grid charge my battery, and am looking for the quickest option. It would be nice to charge it over one (1) weekend. Any links? Maybe Mike D has extra harnesses that I could use with something like the Super Brain?

We think it is. Mike's Grid Charger is definitely an "approved" charger (ie will not void the warranty), but since the charge curve of a BetterBattery is significantly different from the stock batteries, we don't know how accurate it will be at fully charging the pack. It may detect full and stop charging too soon.

The charger definitely won't hurt a BetterBattery, but it may or may not completely charge it. If not, that will be an easy software adjustment for Mike to make and distribute.

The grid chargers we sell are dumb ones, so there is no issue with them.

It will need some settings tweaking is all. Maximum mAh input mostly. These are all user adjustable. I hope to do a writeup on it at some point. Need more than 24 hours in a day.

Hey Eli, I'll be looking forward to the write up. And, if you ever find more than 24 hours in a day, let me know, I could use more time myself!!

If I remember correctly, the cells in the better battery are 8AH, so the AH capacity is larger than the 6500 for the standard pack, all one needs to do is raise the MAX MAH setting to 8500 so the charge will not stop for that reason. The topping detection is independent of the size of the battery, so it will stop the charge when the voltage no longer rises for the sample time (default 30 minutes).
Other than that, there should not be any other adjustments required.
