Red face New Insight Owner. Now I get it.......

Darn those insights going 55 in a 70. I always rolled my eyes as I passed..... /sigh

You know... I was happy. I was happy flying down the highway. I was fine burning gas.... 35$ every 3 days was no big deal. I was fine..... wasn't I? Then comes a 04 MT First Gen with only 57K on the clock at a great price and I couldn't resist. So I purchased it.

The dots...... they haunt me! Must... keep... mpg... high... I can't help but to try to keep the mpg line long..... the dots haunt me. MPG taunts me. 65mpg... not bad. 75mpg... are you kidding me? First drive to work... 45mi @ 83mpg for the trip?!?! omg....... MPG. I need to do better! I need those dots!

I Love 57mph! I laugh at the masses as they fly by as I save so much money! I understand now.

Insight drivers......

LOL. Anyways I love the car. I'm having a few minor items repaired soon but other than that the car runs great. The MPG is outstanding! Im averaging about 75 now. While I can get 80+ on the trip my multi-level parking garage at work eats it up >.< I'm in the Orlando, FL area. Only seen 2 or 3 insights on the road in my area. I keep seeing a green one on the east side of town. Any insight meets in the Orlando area?

I threw a pic of mine up below but for some reason I cant edit or see the image in the gallery. Nor can I add a new pic to it... hmm. Anyone have any ideas?

Sel's Insight

I've already gotten great help here and look forward to chatting with everyone! I look forward to improving my mpgs Keep those dots coming!

LOL, OMG that was so well written I loved it. I made my family pause the TV and I actually read them your post. They all were rolling on the floor saying it was describing me.

Well done Selrahc!

Indeed. It gives you a warm fuzzy feeling, doesn't it?

I am looking two years at those dots and haven't lost interest. I used to go in the left lane with 80-90 with a bigger car. 22 mpg or 17mpg (depending on the car) ~50 k miles yearly. speeding tickets ,they almost took away my license in 2007.
Now I am happily "speeding " with 60 mph when in a hurry and with 53mph when not.... ~four times less gas expenditures....

LOVE IT!! So well said! It's amazing how much gas those fools waste as they zoom around me/us incredulously.

Now that you've learned how 'good' the dots are, push the km/miles button to change everything to km and you'll see how 'bad' the dots are, very confusing car... and I love it!

It's funny talking to people about it. A lot of times "80mpg" doesn't even register. It's so out of the norm that it just doesn't get processed. Others do sort've a mental double take.. "That's great... Wait, 80mpg?"

But indeed, we are forever spoiled. I'll never be able to consider 40mpg good again, let alone 30mpg.
