Default ground straps

I am about to get my first Insight (2000, manual trans). The EPS light is on, and I am told it is inoperable. In doing a search and some reading, I notice a lot of posts talking about bad or broken ground straps. I think the first thing I should do is to check them. Is there a post or sticky showing all the ground straps that are causing problems?
Anything else I should check on a car I am not familiar with (yet)?
I am sure you will be seeing more posts frm me asking for advice (I DO try and use the search feature first).

Make sure that the previous owner didn't remove the EPS fuse for a better "feel" of the steering. There are posts about that here on ICN.
As with ANY new INSIGHT owner, read the majority of posts here for excellent information and an increase of your knowledge.

My EPS also is not working. I replaced the ground strap and read the codes, checked the fuses but can't find the fix. I'm tempted to take it to the Dealership and have them diagnose it for me. It's not hard to drive without EPS except for when parking in tight spaces. 2000 MT Citrus

Welcome Bornloser!

You will likely have future questions on your Insight so here is a document I posted awhile back that you may find useful.

Another way to search the forums effectively

Thanks for the welcome, guys!
Looks like a very informative forum here.
The EPS will have to wait...seems the guy that sold me the car lied, and the IMA battery is WEAK. I am in the process of building a very basic charger/balancer. Hope to at least hold off buying one of the BetterBatteries for a few months. Other than that, LOVE the car. Perfect for my long commute.
Another question... How do these do on snow/ice? They are pretty light, so wondering if its better to drive another vehicle when snow is predicted here.

Many INSIGHTERS drive their vehicles during "snow season". Common sense prevails,

Willie:
I see you are from Campo. My girlfriend has a house in Imperial Beach...we vacation there twice a year. LOVE IT!
Came across the mountain there at Jacumba the middle of December, at 1 in the morning, and the fog was so dense you couldnt see 10 feet.
