Default Should I worry if my battery FULLY charges?

Hi, I just bought a new insight and I am really happy with it. The only thing I worry about is having to buy a new battery down the road. Should I worry if it charges up all the way sometimes? I thought I read somewhere that it's supposed to stay between 80%-20%. Thanks for your help!

The dash gauge, when "full" indicates the 80% you have heard about. Overall, the dash gauge is more of a "this is kind of what's going on" gauge as all kinds of things can be going on in the background that don't show up there. The only way to get a more accurate representation of what is going on with the IMA system is to get an OBDII C&C gauge.

Everything to the right of the fuel gauge on your dash cluster is about as useless as tits on a bull. It gives nothing more than a very vague idea of reality, and tends to tell more lies than truths.

Get yourself an OBDIIC&C gauge, or any of the other neat gadgets we've built as a community, and you'll see why right away.

Charging up to full all the time or too easily could be a sign of positive recalibrations. Try and watch where the gauge is when you lose regen and it goes up to full. If it's more than a couple of bars, investing in a grid charger would be good.

Or cold weather. Here in Quebec, my gauge is always full, event the last segment is on.

Every morning, it charge to heat the battery pack.

That is true. It does aggressively background charge when the battery temperature is below 32F.
