I was keeping an eye on Craiglist when I was shopping for mine. Guy in NE was listing it with 240,000 miles but had CEL light, cracked windshield and 1st & 2nd gear syncros worn out. He wanted $3,900 for a long time, he finally dropped it to $3,200 so I started emailing him. After 2 weeks of getting pictures and talking to him we agreed on $2,900. I bought it with out ever actually seeing the car, flew to Nebraska and drove it back.

Since then I've done a lot of work to it, total I have spent right at 5K on the car and it runs great, that includes having the battery rebuilt and a Mike D grid charger. Still living with the syncro issue but it doesn't really bother me and people who ride with me usually don't even know that the transmission has issues because of how I shift it.

I bought my 2001 170,000 miles off ebay sight unseen. I talked to the seller on the phone he was a used car guy, he claimed it had a new IMA battery but no paper work to prove it. It was a one owner car, he bought it at auction. I was a little uneasy but I won the auction for $4050, I went the next day to pick the car up and drove it 160 miles home and have been loving it since. I have had it for about six weeks now, it is a great little car. I have been getting 60-63 mpg's average. I just bought a set of tires off tire rack to have ready when the current tires need replacing, they are just under half tread. The only thing I am not thrilled with is the color, silver, how boring can you get.

definitely get yourself an insight.

But it hides dirt well and probably reflects heat better than blue or red Obviously, space alien green rules.
