For those who do business with Hybrid-battery-repair
How would you qualify the service?

- recals with the battery
- how many weeks it took to service the battery
- how was the service? communication with customer service?
- Is better battery really as good it is supposed?
Hybrid-battery-repair was in my head for a futur battery, but now, I am not sure anymore with all those complaints.
I think it is a good idea to keep this in a single thread.

Make it 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10, 0 being worst, 10 being best. Three choices, especially your three choices, don't allow for subtleties that his many customers have experienced with the service.
Not a user, but I believe his service, while something that most of us will need somewhere down the line, has been beset with unforeseen events and a steep learning curve. I don't believe he is as customer-driven as Nordstroms, but I also don't believe he is out to tick anyone off on purpose.
I would rather wait a few months to get something that I know and Ron knows will work for more than just a little while, as Honda-provided replacement battery packs are supposedly doing. There is a huge bottleneck of product, as he has explained... if anyone knows a work-around, I'm sure we'd all like to know about it.
Ron saw a need and has done the entrepreneurial thing: He has started to build a business to provide a crying need in the marketplace. His growing pains may be avoidable, his customer service may need goosing, his communication certainly appears to need work. But one thing is certain: Polls and online airing of dirty laundry solves nothing. If your intention is to let others know they have an issue with HBR, well, we already know there are some issues. All of us here have an unusual car, and we all knew going in the battery packs are a weak link in the ownership chain. If you have any qualms about HBR, there are other sources for batteries... right? Right?

Ron is an asset to the community. I support him and all the info he has provided to the newbes' and others over the years. If I had $2000+ I'd support him with my wallet.
Ditto for Mike D., Peter, Gullermo, Insightful Treker, Randall, Eli, Flamboyant, and a host of others.
The goal of this survey is not to know if he is an asset for the community, or if he is a nice guy. I know that he is an asset, and also that he his the only choice to rebuild our batteries.
It is just for those who had business with him. I want to know if it is a good idea to spend 2000$ on a car that worth 2000$.

I've had the Better Battery in my Insight for 6 weeks now. There's definitely increased power and acceleration. I can go 0-60 faster than it ever could with the old battery (when it worked well), I can be more aggressive when turning onto a busy street because of the faster acceleration. I can usually climb hills one gear higher if I want to. Mileage is slightly better. It's really just about as good as claimed on the HBR website. It feels like I'm driving a new car.
It was a long wait, and their minimal or non-responsiveness to any inquiries was exasperating. They took too long AFTER receiving the completion payment. And I have yet to receive the core refund, almost a month after they received my old pack.
In spite of the problems I'm glad I took this route. It cost just over 2K and I got to keep the car I love, and it's performance is the best it's ever been. Other options were definitely more expensive. Visualize your Insight running well with more power at the cost of just over 2K (best to install it yourself) and a wait of 3 to 4 months. I guess it depends on how much you like the car.
I do not see the poll on the app, but I have had good interactions with him long before I was a moderator. Hes prompt at answering questions, many of which was from his hospital bedside.
One time I purchased something and he forget to bill me. I reminded him and sent prompt payment by paypal.
I look forward to testing the betterbattery if not run with it in my i2 and use him for any other hybrid needs if I buy a used or damaged prius.
