Thank you Sucre! As a member of IC, I also would like to thank you, Mike, Eli, and all others involved in this (ongoing) venture to provide parts and information for our cars. Your time, and investments are very much appreciated by all I'm sure.

I'm 12 ahead of Mike.

I spent the evening going through all 98 pages of the Insight schematics!

Happy New year! to all
I have pulled together the cell level tester, and DAQ system which I had modified to test the A123 cells, but will have to figure out how to connect the bare cells that Sucre sent. Don't want to risk damaging them with a prototype weld fixture until I get some data from them, as I don't have a good Positive terminal weld fixture, and do not have any of the metal cell to cell interconnect cups, so the test will likely be compression connected.

We had 12 " of snow, the main drive belt of the snow blower broke, had to make more shop fan boxes for the guy in Singapore, and a lot of other distractions have delayed my concentrating on the fixturing and testing. Hopefully we will be able to get some results next week.

I've begun testing of the cells. Starting with a nice gentle 12A charge to top the cell off.

I haven't checked yet, but based on this initial charge I'm guessing these cells have significantly higher internal resistance than even a Honda cell. Would you mind sharing their internal resistance specification?

Sucre, have you ever tested a Honda cell before? To get a baseline of how your cells would need to perform?

First impressions:

Good capacity. Impressive, even.

However, the graph gives us some clues of the things to come..

Stay tuned!

Most likely time in minutes. In hours would be too good to be true and seconds would only mean a slight improvement in capacity.
