It can be done by yourself but a little harder to do.
They sell "one person bleeder kits" at most automotive parts houses.

The longer you leave a HEPA filter in place, the better filtering it does! LOL. I never replaced the cabin filter in my dodge either... I bet it looks almost as bad. I only spend money on things that keep the car running (oil change, fluid exchange, etc) not stuff that I can live without like A/C or cabin filters.
I view a car the same way I view my computer and television (keep it til it dies then dispose). I suspect your previous owner was the same.

Funny. That's one way to do it. I'm not judging. I'm the opposite. I replace my computer almost every year. Sell the old one before its worthless and put the money towards the new one.
I just replaced the front brake pads and rotors. It appears that it was a good idea. The brakes felt okay but judging by the wear pattern I think there were some serious issues. I'm not familiar with Insights but I've done a few brake jobs in my time. Those old pads and rotors don't look right. That's not how healthy Insight pads and rotors wear is it?
There you go again Mitch, The results of owing a car from the "salt zone".
The Insight takes very little front brake pad contact to stop. (Remember Regen)
The pads look pretty worn out. Did you ever get the "screeching" of the wear indicator tab?
Good job, keep it up.
