Yesterday I cleaned all the trash out of my Insight. I also removed all the dealership window stickers & faded/peeling window decals. The only one I left on the rear glass is the Honda emblem. I got my new hatch struts in this morning, so they should be installed later today.

I've seen those type of marks in the sound insulation material before - perhaps it's caused by an overapplication of the glue that holds it down, or something? I'm not sure, but I've never been concerned about it.

Getting the windows tinted tomorrow. Going to do 5% on the back three. Just to keep the cargo out of sight, and reduce the temps in the summer. I'll probably do the front side windows later, but I am going to hold off for now.

So I fixed broken ground wires while I got my windows tinted.

Repaired + upgraded engine ground wires.

I have found the same on my car. So far, I have replaced 2 of them similar to what you have done. I suppose I need to keep looking for more.

I set off my Check Engine Light for first time!

At lunch today while driving and was enjoying light assist while moving slow but in a high gear ... it kinda wanted to die from "chugging" and I have had a slight hint of "herky-jerky" described in threads about EGR and LAF issues. I've been planning on cleaning EGR plate anyways. I suspected this high mileage 273K gas engine might have some efficiency issues, but I never had any codes since 1 month of driving.

(I got the best MPG yet this morning on 22 mile commute- I was the most gentle EVER on loading the engine- 20 to 45 mph mostly - little 55 to 65 and got 54 MPG.)

I guess I need a Honda dealer to find out the code, right?
Thanks,
Jeff

Does your car's 'lean-burn' function work at all?

I doubt it.

I went to Daryl Waltrip Honda and found the code is for LAF O2 sensor!
I wanted to flush / fill the tranny and clutch anyway to see if I can get ANY improvement with 2nd gear downshift grind.

Of course they wanted 908.00 to replace sensor and "tune/teach" system.
Said the idle was all over the place. I declined. 250.00 for fluids and code scan. The previous owner lived here in TN and serviced it at that dealer---how lucky and strange- I bought it in Arkansas and had it shipped.

So I got a good history finally- KEWL !

Now I need to buy that Amazon NTK LAF sensor... anyone install it and have good result?...

Thanks all!!!
