I like the purolator classic for the compromise of very good flow with very good filtration, rather than the Honda extreme of excellent flow with poor filtration.
At one time oil filters had a bypass valve in them to bypass the filter medium if pressure got too high or the filter too dirty. Also I know the older engines too had a build in bypass in the ol system that bypassed the filter.
Right on Willie, I got one of those filters for my sidekick. It no longer ticks for a few seconds as the oil is pumped up through it. Think I will get one for my honda next time and get the largest that wil lfit too.
Some other tests (found via google) show that Mobil 1 EP and PureOne filters remove more particles from oil than Amsoil does. I'm glad I picked the M1. I did it mainly because it was half as much as amsoil's EA filters, but now it appears I picked the better filter.
Amsoil EaO (from their website)
99.8% @ 20 microns
98.7% @ 15 microns
Good downto 7 micron (nominal)
Purolator PureONE (from email sent from their engineering dept):
99.9% @ 20 micron
99.2% @ 15 micron
92.8% @ 10 micron
Good downto 5 micron (nominal)

My father was sold on amsoil. He got the same miles with it as without it. I cant say he benefitted from it, but then again he didnt have a turbo or anything on his 82 rabbit.
I don't know. Whatever size this is........ wasn't too worried about it since Mobil says it will last 15000, and I'm doing just 10000 (every oil change). It won't get full. The cost was less than $7 including tax/shipping. I'm a bit surprised that companies make these tiny filters to fit our engines. I thought the insight market would be too small to bother with.

That sounds like a plan. I wanted to go with the fram filter witht he anti drain valve and the "Honda" size was out. Seems Honda uses the same size for a lot of their engines. I got one that was an inch longer and about 3/4 the width of the o ring bigger. I cant checked to see if it will fit or not.
I got about 7 thousand miles on quaker state ow20 oil and the honda filter with oil life at 30% I "feel" its about time to change it. At least Ill avoid messin with it in freezing weather if I change it early.
Been using K&N filters and Pennzoil 5-20 Platinum Synthetic oil in my '06 CVT since she was new. Two oil samples sent to Blackstone Labs along the 45k miles traveled indicated no abnormalities in engine wear, so I'm sticking to my program.
The S2000 PCX oil filters have metal end caps instead of cheap cardboard found in the Fram (regular honda OEM) filters. PCX has metal oil bypass valves, Fram dun't. PCX has good filtration, Fram dun't.
I have not been able to google up a test result, but they have been taken apart and they are a different construction than the generic Honda filter tested in your link so his conclusion may not apply.
I am providing an alternative if people wish to stick with a Honda filter. The part number is 15400-PCX-004.
