So, I just ordered a replacement mast for my antenna. As it turns out, it was just the mast that was bent. I ordered a shorter 10" unit however. Trying to keep the profile down a bit from the 16" one that was recommended. Maybe gain a little better mpgs. I am not too concerned about the reception. I have installed a Sony Media Player radio so I mostly listen to my iPod. I just want it to look better than it did with the bent one.
I also bought a dual beam HID kit, and I've been having nothing, but problems with it. At first the low beams would not even work. It was also lighting up the high beam light in the cluster. I checked the connector for the bulb where it plugs into the kit, and the ground wire was slightly lighting up the test light. I unplugged everything, and it was doing the same thing. However, if I installed the oem bulb, and checked it. It would not light up the bulb. So it appeared that it sensed the resistance of the bulb through the ground. Through some research, it appears that some other people have wired 50w 6ohm resistors on some vehicles to fix this issue. So I tried that last night, and now it works on the high beam, but blows the head light fuses when I switch to the low beam. I've done many HID kits in other vehicles before, but this is starting to annoy me, and I may just put normal bulbs back in. I did some searching, and no one else on here seems to of ever encountered this problem. Which bothers me a bit. I blew all the extra fuses I had. Going to buy more in the morning, and hoping I can get this to work. If not, I'm just going to order some nice PIAA bulbs, and sell the HID kit. It's annoying.
