well as for maintenance i know thats good-I do all of it Aside from the rocker cover ive never gotten deep in the motor to see how much (if any) sludge may be hiding in there. Suppose it should be good (the more I think of it) i change the oil about every month (3-5k a month driving).

Currently Peak 0w20 Synthetic. Have used Toyota 0w20, Mobil 1, Mobil Super, etc.
Mobil 1 was on sale for $5 / qt. on Black Friday.
Peak was like $20/ 5ts with filter.
Pep Boys house brand is also $5.50 / qt. regular price (I asked the clerk who makes their oil, but I forget...It was a brand name though.
I really don't think anyone can buy "bad" oil which would harm their engines anymore. It comes down to personal choice and what you want to spend your money on.

I am using the Renewable Lubricants Bio-SynXtra SHP 0W20.
I bought the 5 gallon pail - this much oil for the Insight should last a long time.

I ran Mobil 1 AFE 0w20 in my car until my last OC, where I just put in some very cheap grocery-store branded Citgo-blended 5w20 oil and a cheap filter in. No difference in performance from what I can perceive. And the oil change cost less than $10. Not to like, what's?

If you buy Mobil 1 in Walmart's 5-quart jugs, the price is just a little over $5 a quart. Find it here: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mobil-1-0W...l-5qt/17034374

I've run nothing but Pennzoil Platinum 0w20 in my Insight. I'll continue for the foreseeable future, since I've currently got close to 10 quarts of it sitting on my shelf.

I haven't seen Mobil 1 0-20w in 5-qt jugs since the big shortage a couple of years ago.

It is available here. I have bought a couple of them for my Insights, and it was on the shelf when I was in WalMart this weekend.

Switching to Toyota 0w-20 in another two or three weeks.

It's the same stuff that the Prius III uses, and supposedly the best 0w-20 oil you can buy (according to Used Oil Analyses at bobistheoilguy forum). Manufactured by Mobil.
