Just having fun. My son bought my spare Insight last month, so I had been looking around again for another one.
Bought Insight #4 today, a silver 2001 MT. Was able to drive her home, but she needs a LOT of attention. Seems to have every typical Insight problem, including bad IMA battery, bad input shaft bearing, wet seatbelt, "crazed" instrument panel, and more. Someone put a Toyota radio in the dash, upside down, and it doesn't work. Also, the brake rotors feel like they are warped. Nothing that can't be handled, and the price ($2430) was reasonable.
To the good, she is a southern car, Florida and Georgia, so there are no rust issues. I pulled the negative cable to reset the SOC, and she gave me 69.5mpg on the 42.2 mile trip home in mid 50s weather. The tires are in very good shape, although they are Michelin Energy savers. Coming home, inclines felt like I was driving through slush, but I checked the tire pressures after getting home, and they were all between 24 and 25 psi. I can't complain.
My 0.02 worth,
Tim Glover

^ There's one I haven't seen before! Would love to see a picture.
How many miles are on it?
I have referred to the Ohio family who has 10 Insights as "hoarders", but I think anyone with two or more G1s along with spare parts collection could also be diagnosable. Are you in denial?

Miles are 169,327.
Denial? Me? Ummmmmm, well, we do have four G1s and a wrecked parts car. Nawwww. Not me.
Tim
Here is a picture of the radio. I thought someone just stashed it there to fill the hole, but it is mounted securely.

I did have three and a half G1 cars at one point, but after some expensive therapy and a a few trips to Insights Anonymous I've cut down to two and a half G1 cars.

One day at a time gentlemen. That's all we can do. Right Jime?
And Tim, you can ask your significant other to take solace in the fact that now you only need a Citrus and a Blue one to complete the Insight color spectrum. (Break the news about White and Aquamarine Blue later.)

Just got word back from my taller half (she's been letting me come home for 31 years now) and she informed me that I can complete the Insight color spectrum.......... after her new Camaro shows up in the driveway. Sounds like a good plan to me .
I was actually looking for a blue one, but the only ones I found in my price range were really rough.
So what in the world is up with that dash board display? Looks like some of the LCDs exploded behind the glass or something, going to have to replace the cluster I guess. Wonder how you transfer the Odometer reading for the lifetime miles on the vehicle?
