I have a 2000 mt that keeps throwing the p0420. It has had the ECM fixed in 2000. Took it to a Honda guy and he said it needed a cat and the o2 sensors were working. Does anybody have a cat they would sell.
Use a spacer on the second 02 sensor, clear the code and see if it returns.

That's the ticket.
Advance Auto Parts has the DORMAN 42009 spark plug anti-fouler kit for $6.57. Drill 1/2" hole in one of them to mount the sensor into and then assemble both of them as the spacer.
Make sure you have the radio code before you disconnect the battery.

I am very interested
So what happened?

As with most threads on problems/solutions that have no response, one can only assume the results.
That's why I suggest most INSIGHTERS post the results.
In my opinion they are not true INSIGHTERS.

Oh come on, that is a little harsh. Though it does certainly frustrate me too.

What's really harsh is that the adapters didn't completely eliminate the P2000 (P0420 on the pre '05 cars) code on my car. Once in awhile it returns after a long lean burn drive when I slow down. Before the code came back very quickly.
I can reset the code with the OBDII though so it's just annoying.
My ECM also has the TSB firmware update installed.
