Big thing with the insight is that miles don't de-value the car much. Put 80k on a lupo and see how much you've lost. Even if it was more efficient than an insight (which in real world, I doubt) it would never make up for the depreciation.

: You trade-in your cars? Huh. I didn't think of that. I apologize. I always drive my cars til their dead to get the maximum value out of them. ~$20,000 initial cost divided by ~400,000 mile lifespan == 5 cents per mile regardless if it's an insight or lupo or polo.
So then I try to find the car with the highest MPG to save on fuel costs. The Lupo 3L is a rare car and held its value, and most owners average 90mpg. Actually to be honest I'd probably buy both: pne gasoline; one diesel. See my sig
