Default photo of Ebay EGR opening

Picture from link to Ebay above...Will this work on our 2000 Insight?
... Just wondering about valve ellipse shape opening as opposed to our rectangle... and gasket???

so I should also order a standard Gasket?

I will need a week with it, but so far I have found the Autozone "lifetime warranty" Accord valve works and hasn't thrown a code in my test drives today. This should only affect codes and general smoothness at cruise. I was still able to go 75-80mpg averaging 60 with a non-functional EGR valve.

I just grabbed one of these earlier this week from a local auto store and installed it. Works perfect! and less than half the price of the EGR valve listed at the store for the insight.

mine came with the gasket, too, for what its worth.

Default Thanks Jeff!~

Our Insight started some bucking again, while getting good economy....was going to drill the hole inject the contact cleaner versus open it up and shorten the shaft by 5 mm so the backward contacts would hit new carbon....

But, then I read this! Called my favorite Advanced Auto store and they have the 99 Honda accord 4 cylinder EGR in stock. Will install tonight and save the original Insight EGR....to play with

Thanks Jeff for this post. Will see how many miles this 99 Accord EGR valve goes before it malfunctions....maybe never!

Glad to hear this is working well for everyone.

Makes me wonder, could this thread be sticky worthy?? Would make it easier for others/new people to find.

Default Sticky worthy!

Yes, I think so! We could give reports every month for a couple of years. Make it a science project of sorts!

Yeah, four cyl. Although the 6 cyl version looks the same (my 1999 Odyssey V6 has basically the same valve) - but I have not tested that.

I added part #s to the first post to make it easier for newcomers.
