Hi lakedude,

You wrote "If you say so, you are the mod" . I would reply No. I am an ordinary member in such discussions with my personal opinions. I can be right or wrong. It is not a moderation issue, where then I try to use a "for the good of the forum and all".

What I meant was, does it make a difference if it is fake or not. One can never be sure anyway.

I had written: "we do not have the originals" because then I can verify in depth. Usually, it is where the digits ends and the background starts that a fake can be found. The shade or contrast is harder to simulate by hand compared to a real photo.

But again, a good technician can fake it to look real at the pixel level, which is why you can sometimes say for sure if is is fake but sometimes when it looks true, it could still be fake.

You can only prove a fake by finding errors, you can not prove a real picture.

I used the thumbnail because I could not get the full size. I supposed that you needed to be a member to access the real thing. I try, for time issues, not to be part of too many forums.

A daytime picture might have showed a square box in the copied area but the night time pic is all black so the lines did not show. I still could have touched up a daytime picture with a slight blur or just did the extra segment one pixel at a time.

My point was going to be to show that you can't tel for sure.
nice job. i fooled some others with this one i made:

we can only hope, right? or maybe a little drive off the top of a hot hair balloon :P

Sometimes It is more fun if you don't know,.

As for the 182 MPH photo, nice job artistically but about 4 to 7 errors technically.

Personally I get really nervous when I realise someone was driving 103 MPH with one hand on the wheel, on a public road, trying to compose a camera shot! One spectacular accident would certainly make more people aware of the Insight, but I don't think it would help to promote the hybrid cause. I'd also hate to loose one of our group. I mean the driver of course, but I wouldn't like to loose another Insight either.

I would however like to see one properly modified and professionally tested for top speed as they did with the Prius on the salt flats.

I totally agree, in fact that was the point I was trying to make.

I was actually hoping you were going to say this was a pic from an HCH owner in AL, LA, or FL with great temps for hypermiling this time of year
Fear not, a REAL picture of my current record tank is on the way!
