I got mine on eBay from a dealership for what I thought was a pretty good price including free shipping. They shipped fast and the fasteners were included and pretty easy to install.

They really do look pretty good in the car with a nice snug fit and included all four.

Default As first time Honda owner.....

...I'll state that Honda has really screwed up its floor mat situation. Unlike other makes, Honda dealers don't even suggest "throwing in" mats on a deal. Then the prices for mats are incredibly high if a buyer wants the factory brand. Then they don't provide security posts (my Insight came with none). Then the dealler will charge you an arm and leg to get the posts.

Taking their cue from Honda, even the aftermarket product marketers are screwed up. I bought a set of Lloyd's front rubber mats for my new Insight. Lloyd's advertises that they can be secured to the factory posts (again the Insight doesn't come with such posts)or simply be secured with Lloyd's own security hooks. They arrive with holes in the mat, but no such security hooks from Lloyds. After a month of begging for the hooks, one gets send plastic things that cannot be secured to the car floor (due to location of the front seat platforms.

Total circle-jerk on Honda's part, not to provide floor posts or hooks to the new buyer.

Hi Mike, the posts come with the floormats from Honda. With that sad, I COMPLETELY agree with you on the disappointment of buying a $20k car and it not coming with floormats. To me thats just dumb, but not dumb enough to stop me from getting the car.

From the sounds of it, this has been weighing heavily on your soul for some time....do you feel better now that you got it out?

Yes, posting was cathartic---that plus getting my money back on the Lloyd's mats! They agreed that what they put me through deserved a credit.

Point is that one could not simply buy just the posts from Honda; one had to buy Honda mats.

It seems my floormats have decided to become a pain in the arse after their first birthday. Twice now after flooring it (which is not a common occurrence for me) the mat has wedged itself ON TOP of the gas pedal. Both times this happened on the highway. Good times! Anyway, I guess I will be installing those clips!

I got the all-weather mats thrown in on my deal. I was all set to choose the regular carpeted ones but the salesman recommended the rubber ones. I'm really glad I chose them because they won't get worn like the fabric. However, he didn't install them properly and I had the service dept. install the driver's side clamps when I had the window tint and fogs done. No problem now keeping them in place.

I bought my all weather mats from Bernardi Honda. Cutting into the carpet was not that difficult. I first put the mats in place and marked the location by pressing a marking pen through the anchor holes. That made finding the exact location of the reccesses in the carpet easier. Instead of using a knife I purchased two new wood chisels at Home Depot (1/2" and 1/4"). Light pressure straight down with a chisel cut straight through the carpet. I used the 1/2" chisel for the long cuts and the 1/4" chisel to complete the retrangular cut-out. I cut out both of the rear recesses first then carefully measured the distance to the forward cut-outs (at least 29mm or 1 3/16") before cutting them out. From there it's a simple job to install the lock downs--just follow the instructions.
