I found pairing easy, and sound quality has been good.
But what has been quirky is the phonebook syncing. I have over 500 contacts in my iphone address book, and I wonder if that causes problems? When I sync the phonebook, it goes for about 10 minutes, then gives error message saying there were errors and to try again later. But I see most of my contacts in the phonebook.
I find the user interface to get to my phonebook in the nav system is cumbersome. I admit when I make a call, I usually do the dialing on the iphone, then set the phone back in its spot under the emergency brake and talk normal (hfl).
I've only set up a few names to be dialed by voice command but plan to do a lot more. I do find that useful and safer because I don't have to pick up the phone to dial.
I don't like that, even if the contact is synced to the hfl/nav phonebook, it doesn't display the name on the MID when I have an incoming call. It only displays the phone # incoming, and who on earth knows anyone's phone # these days?!
I also wish the synced phonebook would merge with the nav's addressbook - why a separate phonebook and addressbook? This confuses me to no end. I have carefully managed my Mac Address Book (now shared on iphone too in recent years) over the years, and I hate having to enter addresses and names into the nav system, especially when I already went through the 10 minute iphone phonebook/addressbook sync.
But overall, the system works better than my old car's aftermarket handsfree system in the most improtant area - sound quality.
I'm thinking about buying a windshield mount to hold my iphone on the left behind steering wheel (to hang in front of Econ button). Anyone else have better ideas where to keep the phone? I like to keep drinks in my cupholders, and I the phone can slide out from under the emergency brake sometimes.
