Have you perhaps computed your actual mileage over lifetime? I find my actual is 2-4 mpg less than what is shown with the mid on a fill-up to fill-up basis.

I've been keeping my own spreadsheet including Ethanol in gas, and I noticed it very off, but from another observation I cna affect the calculation by pulling extremes, like 4 or 5 short trips (less than 1 miles) will throw the MID as long as you manage to clear the trip computer with all value sin one direction or another.

I also noticed something even more recently, idling in park does not seem to factor into the MID reading. My last tank had a number of long idles as I configure and setup the OBD-II, the difference in MID and calculated were almost 0.6 L / 100 KM (4 MPG difference), more than any other fill up.

While the car is running the MID is dead on (reset as soon as you start to move), idling at lights throws it off slightly not sure by how much yet since the MID reading is not recorded and I haven't done enough driving to get a reading that works.
