Yup, read a buch of these coments as well, but I'm not even sure it's true... there is the same amount of reading saying it actually has an increased traction...

But anyway how do you define proper traction yourself ? You can read ratings, but for a personal satisfaction analysis, I think you put the right question "How well does it corner and brake?" and so far so good. I personally don't push the I2 to cornering like crazy, I had to brake hard enough to engage the ABS once and was ok with the distance it took to stop. Maybe one will want to corner more agressively than I do and will complain about LRR, but then, it could be interesting if a "no-LRR" tire would do better on the same car (i.e. is it the car, or the tire...) So I personally cannot complain about LRR specs and gladly take the little + it gives me in mpg

Some interesting reading, a little old, but still give some good undersanding of where LRR idea come from and is linked to what : http://www.greenseal.org/resources/r...resistance.pdf

The offset on the Enkei T-Fork is 38mm and the Insight requires an offset of 45mm or greater for proper fitment...38mm is simply too aggressive on the Insight.

Default Aggressive?

Do you mean you were getting fender rub? You know, Tire hitting the lip on your fender shredding your tire and pulling the fender lip out of shape. We want to know what happened to your car that led to your decision to look elsewhere. I rolled the fenders on my RX-7 after a wheel size increase and lowering spring install.

Yeah, Airgate has a lot of talking to do. What he thinks of the springs and what is his tire and wheel combination now and why the previous didnt work. I think he is relating offset to over all outside diameter. Its the spacing of the wheel.

You traded an old Chrysler K car for the i2? Wow, what a change huh? That was a poor attempt to copy the original vw rabbit.

Default NewShoes

I kinda miss the old Omni, It was a true beater! Toss the dogs in and go... Drive it into town, park it and never worry about door dings or other poor parking issues. IT just became too hard to find replacement parts. If It was the GLH Turbo model I would have kept it.

I just want to know what was meant by his wording. Did the setup cause damage to the car or was it hard to get the alignment correct...

I liked the look. Don't want to cause damage though. The sound of the tire tread pulling your fender lip down and out while hitting a small bump mid turn is not a pleasant one...

No rubbing issues...even with the Tanabe lowering springs... The fitment was too aggressive...meaning the front wheels stuck out a little much for my taste.

Default Thanks

OK, good to know. Excess wheel offset can cause accelerated wheel bearing wear also...
