So.. does the stock 185/55-16 work for the Insight if I were to buy a 2009/2010 Honda Fit Sport rims? I see them going for $800 with sensor and tires on eBay right now and I'm wanting new rims/wheel without having to pay extra for the tires.

yes, the fit tires are the correct circumference to have a correct speedometer on the insight.

Stock Insight: 15"x5.5", 45mm offset and 175/65r15

honda fit sport wheels will have 14mm less clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will retract 2mm...and, actual speed will be +1mph when showing 60mph....

hfp wheels will have 23mm less clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will extend an extra 3mm...and, actual speed will be -2mph when showing 60mph...

(just posting as a note to myself)....

Default I am so OCD

Look at OCD me responding to year old threads!

Yes, the 16" Fit Alloys will fit the 2010 Insight with no rubbing.

I just had it done to mine today:

Welcome aboard.

I do not know, I see a lot of wheel gap there. Reminds me of the echo wheels I put on my Scion Xa. I put 14 inch rims on a car that had 15s. The speedo was off by 5mph.

Overall, it's actually close to stock. The steelies I had before were 15" and these Fit wheels are 16". The overall diameter is basically the same. Maybe they look smaller to you because of the lighting. To me, it looks stock.

I suspect you lowered your ride and your basis of comparison is different.

^seems about right, stock height seems to have a lot of gap even on stock 15" steelies. Cobb did lower his ride I think..
