SO its time to think about snow tires and I figured since the LX comes with steel wheels I would call the Honda dealer and get a price for a set of 4 for my EX. Honda dealer's quote: "$140." My response: "Well that isn't too bad for a set of 4 I guess." Honda dealer's reply: " No that's each." My response: Why are they so freaking much? Does that include the TPMS sensors?" Honda dealer: "No, they're $40 extra per wheel." My response: "Click"
Ok the last time I got snow tires put on steel wheels for my Civic was about 3 years ago. Do you know how much the wheels cost? $30 each. And they were nice steel wheels, they didn't even start to rust in the two seasons that I used them.

140 for 4 (35 each?)? That's pretty good.. I got a quote for $75 each (cheapest) OEM RIM from a tire place local, and 81 from the dealer, but no one stocked the odd size tires except the dealers. I figured the Fit would have ensure they were available anywhere, but the tire place had a 3 day wait and it's wasn't even prime season where demand was high yet.
Either way i over spent on winter tires by some amount.. But I'm set for the next year or two..
Read a little closer.. I figured that was the price for all 4 but the dealer corrected me by stating that it was $140 each.
Yup I misread it.. :-S I think Cobb had it right find a guy sell it from a Fit. They share the same stock rim size, and you might find folks who have upsized their tires.
I noticed a guy the other day local selling fit rims, offered to buy 1 off him, he gave me a smirk, his price was pretty reasonable at $60 each and were liek new (less than 6 months old). I too want a full size spare.. :-S
I could not find four used steel wheels anywhere. The local Honda dealer sold me a set of four for $118 each. The woman at the parts counter saw the $140 list price each and said, "that is just too high", and then gave we the lower price. Since I could not find a used wheel below $70, I took the deal.
The Honda wheels clear the front brake calipers and the center hub ID is a perfect fit.
You can try searching for a Toyota Yaris (Vitz, Belta or even Echo for pre-2005, depending where you live). They are also 4-100 pattern. Not too sure about the offset, to be confirmed, but it should be close, Tire rack list a bunch of alloy wheels with common offset & backsacing. Just not sure about the steel wheel.
Note, I think the oem steel were 14" on the Yaris. 15" could be a custom made. But anyway, this might extend your research possibilities !
