Default Maintenance Items and Where To Get Them

I've found, in general, common items are a little harder to find for the 2010 Insight. Many of the "part finders" do not even have the 2010 Insight listed, even at major sites like Amazon.com and Auto Zone; and some other sites like Amsoil, the listing simply doesn't work.

I'm putting this thread together to help us all find common parts, and find where to buy them.

You can help! Please post:
* Links to products that can be purchased online for use on the 2010 Insight
* Confirmed compatible products, with SKUs/serial numbers if possible
* Please, no compatibility speculation! (Like, "Gee, I think if you get this air filter, it should probably fit, but I haven't tried it myself.") Just confirmed facts here!
* Suggestions for other common parts to include
* Reviews or comments on any particular vendor

I will continue to compile this list so that we can all benefit.

Default online dealer stores

I have been pleased with Bernardi Honda, for which links are provided above,

and with College Hills Honda

Honda Insight Accessories - Genuine 2010 Honda Insight Hybrid Accessories Shipped at Discount Prices

and with H&A

Honda Insight Accessories - Genuine Factory Honda Accessories

All three sources have consistently good (though not identical) prices and good service. They also have easy to use web sites.

To the extent you care about location/shipping distance, these three provide east coast, midwest, and west coast sourcing options.

Add to that wiper blades... Does anyone know the exact size? I wanted to get Silblades for my Insight but I can't seem to find the size listed anywhere. If it's in the manual, would someone mind pointing to the page number? I couldn't find it...

Excellent suggestion... I've looked up and found a couple places to get wipers and added them to my list in the first post.

Bernardi parts reports that ANCO brand winter wipers work with the insight, but doesn't tell you what parts work... anyone who has this info, it'd be helpful.

might be useful for maint items :

Maintenance Minder System

Your vehicle is equipped with the Maintenance Minder system. The on-board computers will calculate when service is required.

One of the most convenient and important features on your vehicle is the advanced technology of the Maintenance Minder System. The maintenance requirements for your vehicle are determined by an internal algorithm, which considers the engine starting temperature, driving distance and engine RPM. The on-board computer also judges your driving conditions and habits, and then calculates the remaining engine oil life, displaying it as a percentage. The technology of the Maintenance Minder System allows you to enjoy your vehicle without the worry of when you are due for your next servicing.

The remaining engine oil life and maintenance service symbols are displayed in either the odometer/trip meter area or in the multi-information display area. As part of the Maintenance Minder System, a separate "wrench" icon also appears indicating that required maintenance service is due. Based on engine operating conditions, the on-board computer in your vehicle calculates the remaining engine oil life. When the remaining oil life is approximately 15%, the Maintenance Minder will indicate that an oil change is due soon. When it reaches 5%, the system will show that an oil change is due now. When it reaches 0%, the system will show that an oil change is past due by an indicated mileage. Along with these reminders, the system will also display either a Maintenance Main Item A or B along with Maintenance Sub-Items 1 through 6 as required.

Main item A

- Replace engine oil*

Main item B

- Service front and rear brakes

- Inspect and adjust drive belt.

Sub-Item 3

- Replace transmission fluid

Sub-Item 4

- Replace spark plugs
- Inspect valve clearance

Sub-Item 5

- Replace engine coolant

Every 24,000 Km

- Replace air cleaner element if vehicle is regularly driven in dusty conditions.
