I admit they have a similar profile and the split rear window but does it really look exactly alike to people who haven't sunk money into one? Oh well, the Insight still looks better to me at least.
Its funny, I never get people saying that my Tacoma is a Ford Ranger??? I mean really they have the same side profile and a tailgate. By the same logic that people keep confusing the Insight for a Prius, that's a dead ringer right?

I don't understand what's wrong with some people. To me the I2 looks very different than a Prius.

I got it again this week. I told my coworker that I had the Honda hybrid, not a Toyota, and he said "Honda has a hybrid?"

lol.

Also, a woman I work with who is very "buy American" was talking about the Honda airbag recall like it was the biggest deal.
A while ago she had gone on and on about how Hondas cost so much more to repair than U.S. cars, which I don't believe is true. She thought it was a huge conspiracy.

Woohoo! Got my first correct question from a coworker today: "Aren't you glad you didn't get a Prius?" lol
I told her yes, but that I'm sure once the brake software is fixed they'll be just fine.

I'm still waiting for the recall to fix the dash layout in the Prius. Until they fix that, I don't consider them drivable...

Ha! Me too! Of course, the guy that said this was present during my conversations back in Oct / Nov when I was still considering buying the Insight.

Still - at least he remembered!

Today a 2010 Prius driver asked me if my hybrid was having any trouble with its brakes

would be nice if we had the same software brake override feature upgrade that toyota is putting into its cars tho. i think the insight has a similar accelerate by wire system as the prius.even if the ECMs are different the brake override feature is a good safety system to have.

I haven't had anyone mistake it for a Prius yet. Most conversations go like this.

Ohh, I like your car.
Thank you

Is that a Honda?
yes

Is it a hybrid?
yes

I have a Honda and a Prius side-by-side in my garage. They look about the same length. I think the Prius is a bit wider. It's slightly bigger inside. I like 'em both. You can't beat a Honda or Toyota. A great time to buy either one.
