Default No, my "Toyota" is not being recalled!!! ;P

So how many of you guys have gotten that question? lol
Apparently everyone I know thinks I drive a Prius, even "fellow" Toyota owners I feel bad when I have to tell those ones that I actually have a Honda, because at least they should know better!

I just tell the clueless that my better looking Prius is not being recalled. Then I do have to explain that it is really a Honda Insight. Did not have this problem with my '01 Insight, oh wait, I was always having to tell people it was an Insight and not a Prius. Oh well such is the burden of owning rare beauties.

I think it is funny that some people think I drive a Prius. Even before the recall I had someone who parked next to me and was looking at my car asked me how I like my Prius. I gave a bit of a chortle and politely told him that it was a Honda.

To be honest, the I2 does look exactly like a Prius, so to the everyday person I can certainly see how they would mistake the two. On the other hand, no one will every mistake our I1 for anything else.

Bite your tongue Leonar, you just don't travel in the right circles. There was a group of people talking about the Toyota recalls as I was leaving work last week. Our accountant was going out the door and asked me "You drive some kind of Prius don't you?"

My snappy response was "No it's a Honda and you drive a Chevy, right?" as she was getting into her Saturn Aura.

You just gotta hang with the right hayseeds.

I wonder if now would be the perfect time for Honda to come out with an ad that is aimed at people who think that the Insight is a Prius?

You know, just to remind people that there is an affordable alternative out there that has NOT been recalled due to faulty brakes...

You'd think they'd make every effort to try to capitalize with this, but I've all but given up on Honda marketing. A complete joke of a department.

The problem is once a company starts showing off like that and taking advantage of something that can happen to any automobile company, it will make them look small. Also, just think if Honda has to do a major recall in the future.....It is not like Honda never has to do them.....They have some going on right now for instance (not currently as bad as Toyota)
