You guys hear about the Prius replacements?

A buddy of mine was told 400.00 per side. I Sh*t u not! They received a ton of complaints, the local dealer sent out a memo saying SORRY and now the same job will be done at 150.00 per side.

Crazy!!!

Headlight problem - PriusChat Forums

Yes, there is a 70+ page thread on priuschat. I think Prius owners are complaining because of the following reasons:

1) Ignorance about HID technology. Most don't realize that turning HID lights on and off multiple times within a short duration can dramatically reduce bulb life.

2) The HID bulbs in the Prius are difficult to replace. You don't have to remove the front bumper (some do), but you do need to remove some interior parts to access the bulb.

Considering that a whole DDM kit cost $50, (which includes lifetime bulb replacement), I am not so concerned about similar issues.

BMWs are like that too, its like a made in one unit. Guess hte prius owners should of opted for the leds?

Cheesie, most name brand stores do not carry hids. You have to go to a tuner, pimp my ride type of shop or just buy online.

Now your local stores do sell better halogen bulbs like the silver stars, silver stars ultras and a few others. They use more power than regular halogen bulbs, vs less like the hids.

What Kelvin? 4300k, 4500k, or 5000k?
35W is enough, don't need 55W for HID.
I hope you ordered it as a kit which comes with the ballast, not only the bulbs.

you don't need a relay, it's just safer to have a relay though.
