I hear it when I brake at slow speeds sometimes but as with the auto stop, I don't even pay attention to it anymore because a) my mind is on something else or b) I'm too busy enjoying my music or c) I'm focused on the MID and mpg readout and trying to get good gas mileage.

I mentioned the sound to the service dept and they said it was normal.

So.....try solutions a, b or c above.

I am just a strange person and cant help but to ignore the unusual.

THe noise sounds like an old stereo I had that had an 8 track player. If it was without a tape, you heard random noises through the speakers and every so often a very high pitch PEEP.

Anyway, I can't believe that you have it too and you're so young. I didn't get it until after I turned 50.

I had my hearing tested and it's still perfect (I can detect all frequencies and volumes). Many people get this after listening to too many rock concerts.

Some of my friends used to have a thing in front of their house that made a loud screeching sound. I asked what it was and they said that it was to keep cats away. They said most people can't hear it (usually older people) but I can hear it.
Yeah, I'd like to say the drumming without ear protection and other various forms of loud music were worth it, but...yeah, not so much

Weather at home or work, I pretty much have something going in the background as white noise to drown it out. Put me in a quiet room by myself and it won't be long before I start testing the walls with my head to see if they are padded!

Back on topic, has anyone caught this sound from the car on tape? Is it loud enough? I wonder what it would look/sound like running through Audacity...

I guess the thing we are all wondering is if this is a) something that is present on all cars under certain conditions, but may not be perceptible to all, or b) something that for whatever reason is only showing up for a few unfortunate people who have to try to convince the dealer they aren't crazy!
